From DIY stair runners to optimising the space under them to implementing a maintenance plan, be sure to check this one out!

Today's post is all about how to update your stairs in creative and money-saving ways. A couple of years ago, I DIYed a stair runner using value runner rugs from a DIY store. The project went down a storm on social media so I wrote a step-by-step (no pun intended!) DIY tutorial of the process which you can read here... see below for before & after pics...

After the success of the stair-runner, I added a DIY handrail for under £35. You can read that tutorial here...

These stair projects got me thinking about other ways to update your stairs on a budget so I wrote this ideas piece, packed full of stair update inspo.

If you are looking for creative ideas for stair runners then you need to read this one as it has loads of ideas, everything from bargain IKEA mats to vintage stair runners and even painted ones.

Moving slightly away from decorating stairs to utilising the space under them, I wrote a round-up of great ways to maximise your under-stairs storage space to incorporate features like a pantry, compact WC, toy storage or even a utility room! You can read that one here...

Once you have your beautiful stairs completed using some of the ideas from the above posts, then don't forget to implement a maintenance plan to ensure they stay safe and fit for purpose. You can read my top tips for stair maintenance here...
